Haley James doesn't know why she was walking toward the Scott residence at all. At this home is the home of Lucas, Karen and Dan Scott. She continued on walking wearing jeans that were a little bit torn at the knees. With another blue tank top but this one was a tube top which she didn't know why she was wearing it but she was. She didn't even know why she bought it besides the fact that Rachel said that it looked good on her. Thankfully for Haley that day was a weekend and her parents weren't home as well. She didn't even know why she was heading toward the Scott Residence and she knew that if Rachel found out about what Hales was doing then Rachel would make it so that she wasn't popular anymore probably.
When she got to the Scott's house she knocked on the door as she waited outside of the house. After she knocked though someone answered the door and she turned around to see Lucas Scott looking at her. She smiled at him and asked "Hi Lucas can I come in?"

If anyone had ever truly surprised Lucas it was Haley when she had come over to his house. He opened the door and thought that perhaps he was somehow dreaming. It was way too good to be real in his mind. Haley James actually wanted to know him and spend time with him for some reason. He realized though after some minutes that he was not dreaming and gestured for her to come into the house. "Of course," he told her while wondering why she was even there. Maybe she had a motive he thought to himself. Most peopled had a motive when they came over to his house. Lucas just could not figure out what her's might be. Mainly because she had made him think that he was one of the last people she wanted to be bothered with. After she came in he closed and locked the door behind them. He figured at least then they would be warned whenever his parents decided to come home. "I was under the impression that you could hardly stand me. So I'm a little confused as to why you would come all the way over here."

Haley looked at Lucas when she stood in the doorway waiting to come in. When he said of course she walked in and looked around the place and was quite impressed by it only because it was even more better looking then she thought it would be. She sighed before she heard him ask her "I was under the impression that you could hardly stand me. So I'm a little confused as to why you would come all the way over here." She heard him lock the door and just took that thought out of her head before she said "I came here because Rachel sent me over here for some odd reason. Don't ask me what the reason is she didn't tell me at all." Well that was sort of the truth in it that Rachel did sent her here but she didn't know what for.
((hope that is okay if I did that since we don't really have a rachel yet and I think that Rachel would send Haley over to his house with telling her no reason for it don't you?))

Lucas was not surprised by the response Haley gave him. Of course the girl had been sent over as a sort of spy. Although he did not plan on showing Haley what he thought Rachel would like to know about as much as what he thought would appeal to the brunette. "So Red sent over a spy," he said with a smirk on his face. "You can just follow me." Lucas then headed up the stairs and into his bedroom, while making sure that the girl was following him. Once inside he looked around the large room that his mother had had renovated two summers back while he had been away at camp. It was more like an apartment than a bedroom, the best bedroom that money could buy in his mind. There was a king sized bed on the wall that the windows was on, a bathroom and closet to the left, and a small library slash study area over to the right that housed all of his books, music, and any other sort of media you could really think of. "Come in..." Lucas said as he walked over to where his desk was and shut his laptop so that she would not be able to see what he had been doing on it. "... just don't touch my laptop."
((I think it should be fine, at least for now.))

After Haley said why she was there she looked up at Lucas and saw that he wasn't all surprised at all. She just shook her head as she heard him say "So Red sent over a spy," She nodded her head even though she noticed the smirk on his face. She really didn't care why Rachel sent her over here but she is not liking being Rachel's spy with Lucas since it's not all that fun for her at all especially if Lucas isn't all that surprised by it either. She sighed as she followed Lucas up the stairs and into his room. Well that is what she thought until she saw the room. She thought she could hid in here for the rest of her life. Well that is until she saw the books which was for her a little bit of a surprise. She heard him say Come in but don't touch his laptop. As she came in she said "Wow you have a lot of books Lucas. I didn't know you were this much into reading really." As she really didn't know that he was. Well she and Lucas never really talked all that much really before so it wouldn't be a surprise for Haley if what she finds is really interesting to her but probably not for Rachel but she didn't really care with what her friend might say to this stuff at this exact moment which was fine with Hales at that moment.

Lucas had kind of known that Haley had just figured he was some shallow self absorbed jerk up to that point. The moment that she commented about the books and reading he smiled. "You don't have to tell Red about those. Most people our age just roll their eyes when they see how many I have." He found her rather refreshing and well more interesting than most of the other girls that he knew. "If you want to ever borrow a book or two, just ask," Lucas told her and then walked over towards the bed. "Although be forewarned that I will charge you for the ones you don't return in a timely fashion." A laugh followed his words this time because he was sure she out of most people would return them. Well, that was if one of the other girls did not get a hold of them and decide to get revenge. He then turned to look at her. "I've gone out with and kissed a lot of pretty girls, but none of them have ever as beautiful as you on the inside. I think I could get use to being with someone like you. Someone that has similar passions as myself."

Haley nodded her head when she heard him say how kids their age just roll their eyes at his collection. Still mesmorized by his books Hales walked over to his books and just gently ran her hand over the books spines. When Hales heard Lucas say that she could burrow a book along as she brought it back in good condition. She smiled at him as she said "Don't worry Lucas I well do that." As she smiled at him. She also heard his other comment about her telling Rachel about his books. She just shook her head as if to tell him that she probably wouldn't tell Ravhel about them. She then heard his comment about him dating a lot of pretty girls but none of them saw this. And that he could get to use to her and also sharing his passion. She smiled at him and said "True and I do share your passion about books and learning probably. And you know earlier this week when we were talking during Lunch and I was writing in my notebook. You were right those were song lyrics." Hales didn't know why she was telling him this now at all.

Lucas wondered why all of a sudden she chose to come clean about what she had been writing in her notebook. He thought that she would of withheld that for a good long while. Instead for some reason she was confiding in him, which was kind of strange for him. There were few people that ever really confided in him. Maybe it had something to do with his facade. Lucas could not help that people just did not care enough to let such people in though. "I just don't understand why you think you have to hide that part of you. It's not like you're me and have all of this pressure to be this perfect person. Maybe from those idiots that we like to call peers, but you can't possibly be getting it from either one of your parents." In truth he was just assuming that she did not have a parent similar to his own father. Dan Scott was secretly one father you did not want to have although almost everyone else seemed to think that he was such a good person and father. There was the constant pressure from the old man to stay on top of his game, day in and day out. That all just meant that Lucas had to hide his passion from just about everyone except his mother and sister. "So what are you really afraid of? That all of your popular friends are just going to turn on you? If so, maybe it would be worth the demotion to being unpopular."

Haley didn't know why she was just now confiding in Lucas about her secret of singing or that she was writing lyrics at lunch that day. She just shook her head and she knew why because he kept his secret hidden until she came into his room for a long time that maybe she thought that he could probably hid hers with his. She sighed as she heard him say "I just don't understand why you think you have to hide that part of you. It's not like you're me and have all of this pressure to be this perfect person. Maybe from those idiots that we like to call peers, but you can't possibly be getting it from either one of your parents." She shook her head as she said "Your right I don't have to be like you with hiding it but I don't know. I just don't want anyone to find out because I am embarrassed with what they well say and I just don't know what well happen if my little secret ever did happen to come out and everyone well just look at me like I am strange. I keep it my secret so that I won't have to worry about anything wrong happening to my life." Since with Haley that is one of her frequent nightmares that she has sometimes when she doesn't want to she well have it and she just doesn't want anyone to find out really. She also doesn't have to hid anything since to everyone else her life is pretty normal well sometimes it is. Haley then heard Lucas saying "So what are you really afraid of? That all of your popular friends are just going to turn on you? If so, maybe it would be worth the demotion to being unpopular." She didn't know she was looking down until he said that and she looked at him. She breathed in and out and said "I am a little bit afraid of that but I mean Lucas me and my best friend in middle school have always wanted to be popular and we were all the way through until now in our junior year of high school. I have never been anything else besides popular and it well be weird to go from being popular and well-liked around school to being unpopular and not well-liked around school." She sighed as she really didn't know what to do at all.

As he watched how she reacted he listened carefully to each and every word that she said. Sure maybe she did not think of him in the same way the other girls did, but that did not change his mind about her at all. Lucas knew he had to say some stuff not only to comfort her, but to let her know that she was not alone in this issue that she was trying to deal with. "Look I know how it is to want to hide stuff. In your situation I don't think you really have to hide it." He smiled at her as he spoke. "So what if some people look at you like you're strange? There are those of us that won't. Besides what's cooler than being friends with a future rock star?" Lucas knew that rock stars were a lot cooler in most people's minds than writers.
"Either way, I don't see any real reason why you have to give up partying with us. We all know I have more say about the guest list than just about anyone else." He indeed knew that the guys would agree with him as to her being cool enough. It would most likely be the girls that would be petty and jealous. "So even if Rachel and them turned on you, you wouldn't really be that bad off. You would at least still have me."
Lucas then just pretended to casually take his shirt off as he walked over towards the bathroom and threw it in the hamper. He then walked over to near where Haley was and leaned up against the desk some. "It really comes down to if you think it's worth it in the end, and you're the only one that can make that decision." He just wished that he could make it for her.

Haley looked at him awaiting for his reaction to what she said. Sure she wasn't interested in him in the same way as the other girls were including her friend Rachel. She just didn't see Lucas in that way at all since at first she didn't even see him any way but now she is slowly starting to see him in a brother kind of way which was a little bit strange but she knew that maybe that was what she was feeling. She heard him say "Look I know how it is to want to hide stuff. In your situation I don't think you really have to hide it." Haley smiled back at Lucas when she saw him smile and then she heard him say "So what if some people look at you like you're strange? There are those of us that won't. Besides what's cooler than being friends with a future rock star?" She started to think about that some since she didn't really know what to say to that at all.
She was going to say something when she heard Lucas say again "Either way, I don't see any real reason why you have to give up partying with us. We all know I have more say about the guest list than just about anyone else." She smiled at that since she knew that is true somewhat. Since Lucas was mostly like the head popular or at least with the party's he is. She heard him say "So even if Rachel and them turned on you, you wouldn't really be that bad off. You would at least still have me." She smiled at that and said "Thanks Lucas and it is true that you do have the say with the guest list. And I don't know if its cooler to be friends with a future rock star though."
As she was saying that she watched him taking off his shirt and putting it in the hamper in his bathroom. She adverted her gaze since she didn't want to look at his upper body that is now uncovered. She was still near the bookshelves just still amazed by how many books he had. She walked over away from it so that she can see him and when he said "It really comes down to if you think it's worth it in the end, and you're the only one that can make that decision." She sighed as she heard him say that since she knew it was her decision but it is like a big decision to make though. She sighed as she said "But it is a big decision to make though and if I do make it and I let everyone hear me and somehow big record producers are here to do it then I well be away from the school doing this big dream of mine and then I wouldn't be able to finish high school here and go to Harvard when I get out of high school." She sighed as she knew that if she really want this dream to happen that finishing high school or going to Harvard won't matter anymore because she well be living out her dream instead. [/size]

It became painfully clear to Lucas that Haley was not interested in being anything more than just friends with him. That really bothered him mainly because he was so interested in her. He had to wonder why he had even bothered to take his shirt off in the first place. Part of Lucas still was in denial that she did not like him as more though. It was that part of him that found a need to kiss her on the lips. Usually he did not just go around kissing girls that had no interest in him, but he really liked this one. By no means was he just going to give up without a fight. After all he usually got what he wanted, and not being able to get what he wanted this once he was certain would drive him rather crazy.
Sure he could of replied to what she had said, but there really was not much for him to say. He was not all that use to having to be that supportive and reassuring, and it was a lot of work for someone that was out of practice in that department. Showing her how he felt was a bit easier at that very moment. Lucas just hoped that she would not hate him for doing so. At the very least he wanted to be in her life in some way, even if it was just friends. First though he had to see if there was a possibility for them to be something more.

Haley didn't want to be nothing more with Lucas since she didn't really want a boyfriend right now all she really wants is a guy friend that is it. For Haley when she looked at Lucas now all she did was look at him in the face or at least tried to but she knew that she also had to report back to Rachel with what she saw. So she decided to look down at the way that he looks so that she could do a report back to Rachel even though she knew that once practices start that she well have plenty of chances to look if Lucas or some of the other guys took off their shirts during practice. When Lucas started to kiss her she felt a little bit of what he felt in it but she didn't want to feel his emotions right then. Since Haley knew who she wished that she was kissing was Nathan his younger half-brother instead of him. She let go and said "Lucas Scott don't ever kiss me again." As she stood there a little bit hotheaded because she thought that she made it clear to him that she wasn't interest in him but she guess she thought that she was wrong in the way that he felt as well.

Lucas felt really off, especially off of his game. He had a hard time dealing with the idea that she really was not interested in him. It was not like he got turned down that often. This was the first time he could remember it happening. So as he tried to get an understanding of it all he just stared at her. After some time he came back to the present and wondered how to handle things now that he had made himself so vulnerable to so much. "I'm sorry," he forced out. It was not like he was really sorry, but he did not know what else to say. She clearly did not like him in that way. Just the same he wanted for her to like him in that way so much. Lucas felt a little sheepish, but did not show it. He was already appearing to be too vulnerable and could not risk her finding him to be even more so. "I should know better than to actually think someone that has a lot of substance would even like me like that. I'll go back to chasing girls that just want me for my body," he remarked as he went over to his dresser and got out a shirt. Lucas pulled the shirt on over his head and than down around his upper torso until his upper body was once again covered.
